Merry Christmas
We want things because we're sure those things will make us happy and then, those things end up making us more miserable than when we started. I hope you don't get anything you want.
I am very amused by your writing. I used to live on 8th Avenue in Park Slope right by GAP (Grand Army Plaza). But now I live all the way in the neighBORING state of Connecticut.
I want to contribute toi you r contest which I just read about this morning. I guess I'll go to that page in a moment. I have thought about a name for a solid 10 minutes and my mind keeps drifting to a lot of what you wrote and the way I think you truly feel about getting stoned all the time......as I DO TOO. We are escaping, we are escapists. But we really don't want to think of ourselves that way. I have no intention of interrupting my everyday pot smoking, but I really wish I did.
Howabout, since we are so deft at being such clever and very prepared escape artists, why don't we lovingly call ourselves Houdini or even Blaine?

Well...that was short, not sure about sweet...but definitely to the point.
Merry Christmas!
Good post. I'm very grateful for many things I have asked for, over the years, and never got!
